t. Guyaneh Vank was built over the 4th century saint's burial crypt between 630-641, and is one of the holiest shrines in the Armenian church.

Guyaneh is a shrine, a museum and a working parish church, with a mataghatun (sacrificial house), and a lively group of parishioners. Go to the cathedral for high drama, Hripsimeh for quiet reflection, and to Guyaneh to see how locals worship.

Where

Located 300 meters south of Echmiadzin Cathedral Complex. You can see Guyaneh's spire from the Cathedral parking lot. To get to there, follow the parking lot walls to a narrow street that winds right and left past an old cemetery and then due south. At Issy les Moulineaux Poghots, turn right. Guyaneh will be directly in front of you. The entrance is about 30 meters beyond.

When

The vank and church are open seven days a week. Opening time varies depending on whether an early service is held, but generally the complex is open from 9 am to dusk. No admission charge.
